The American Community Survey (ACS) is an ongoing survey conducted by the United States Bureau of the Census. It gathers data on demographic, economic and social characteristics at various geographic levels within the United States. Data from the ACS are aggregated into one, three and five year periods. The data presented in this query tool are aggregated at the five year level, which makes these estimates more stable for Utah's sparsely populated areas.

The ACS percentages were calcualted from the ACS estimates. The confidence intervals were calculated following [[a href="../../../../pdf/resource/ACSstateLocal.pdf" ACS guidelines]] on page A-13 and A-15.

Prior to 2015 San Juan County was part of the Southeast Local Health District. In 2015 the San Juan County Local Health District was formed. Data reported are for all years using the current boundaries.
